The Industrial House- Main Space, Docklands

2 min read

Set on the waterfront at London’s Royal Docks, The Industrial House is a remarkable Grade II-listed industrial landmark originally built in 1914 as a cold-storage and cargo facility. Now reimagined as a cultural and creative destination, the building retains the scale and atmosphere of its maritime past, with monumental interiors that offer a striking alternative to conventional event venues. The wider site comprises three distinct areas- the main interior, an outdoor dockside space and the building’s imposing exterior- each available to explore as part of a larger production or event. The venue can be hired in sections or exclusively, with the full site accommodating up to 700 standing guests.

The Main Space is defined by its cavernous proportions, exposed red-brick walls, cast-concrete coffered ceilings and painted steel trusses. Original industrial features and remnants of the building’s working history lend the interior a sense of authenticity, while the broad rectangular layout creates clear sightlines and plenty of scope for ambitious set builds, installations and event production. Its raw, functional aesthetic can be transformed to suit a wide range of creative briefs, from an abandoned factory or underground bunker to an immersive performance environment, fashion presentation or large-scale brand activation.

With its monumental architecture and atmospheric textures, the space is particularly compelling for film, television, commercial photography and music productions seeking a location with genuine industrial character. It also offers potential for live events, exhibitions and immersive experiences, with the central floor adaptable for dancing and a variety of seating configurations possible.
