Dandelion Mansion

We are overjoyed that you have chosen to stay at our lovely country home.

This will be our fourth summer here; in the time we have become custodians of this grand old dame, we have tried to bring in some love and life and have been careful not to overdo a total renovation which might mask the well-developed patina of a long-loved country manor. The main part of the house was originally built somewhere between 1700 and 1750, and is considered a mid-Georgian with signifcant regency additions.

The house has been extended throughout its early history as the garden front took on its present, more regency-like appearance. To the southwest boundary runs the dry bed of the long-abandoned Thames and Severn Canal, which, at one time, would have been a busy route for boats between the two rivers. Beyond this, 30 yards or so away, is the Thames; narrow, low and barely visible from view apart from the willows which fank it.
