The restaurant and event space is owned and operated by Good Food Society, founded by Levent Büyükuğur and Sanjay Nandi.
Designed by Afroditi Krassa, Yosma’s contemporary interior is inspired by Istanbul’s vast history and
features an open kitchen with mangal grill and counter dining, restaurant and raki lounge bar with
cocktails created by Matt ‘Talented Mr Fox’ Whiley.
Materials reflect a traditional meyhane, or tavern; bespoke patterned terrazzo floors, traditional timber cabinetry and screening. Neal Fox, a local artist, has been commissioned to produce artwork especially for Yosma. The colour palette is elegantly subtle with soft tones of sage and dirty pink throughout the upholstery and fabrics.
Levent Büyükuğur Founder of Istanbul Doors, the first corporate restaurant group Turkey, Levent Büyükuğur's success came with the opening of restaurant Da Mario in Istanbul in 1993, Vogue Restaurant, and then Anjelique in 1997, Istanbul's trendiest nightclub. Today, the company has over 18 successful brands, a network of over 40 restaurants and the stunning Ajia Hotel in Istanbul.
